All-in-one software for Swiss SMEs: one system or several programs? (2026)
One system for the whole business or several, one per area? The big Swiss comparison of 18 all-in-one solutions — with current prices, strengths and limits.
The essentials
- The decision falls before the program comparison: one continuous system saves seams and costs freedom of choice per area. Several programs cost seams and give that freedom back.
- For 11 of the 18 solutions no price is stated — in this market that is the rule and not the exception: 8 sell exclusively through distribution partners.
- 7 vendors state an entry price publicly, in the middle CHF 35.– a month, the highest published at CHF 65.–. For an all-in-one solution the entry price says the least: implementation regularly costs a multiple of it.
- All 18 solutions offer an open interface. For all-in-one solutions that is no longer a selection criterion but the condition on which they are sellable.
- 10 of the 18 handle payroll in full including the electronic filings. That is the criterion on which an all-in-one solution stands or falls for a Swiss business.
Five criteria in the order in which they shorten the list
For an all-in-one solution what decides is not the feature scope but the fit of the weakest module and the question of who supports the whole.
How many areas need the same data?
If sales, stock and accounting share the same item master, that argues for one system. If the areas work independently, nothing does — and an all-in-one solution would be buying what two specialist programs do better.
How strong is your weakest area?
An all-in-one solution is only as good as its weakest module. If that very area is your core business, the specialist program wins — even if the all-in-one solution leads on every other row.
Payroll
10 of the 18 solutions handle payroll in full including the electronic filings, 4 in a limited way. In an all-in-one solution that is not an add-on module but the reason to take it at all: payroll is the area where a seam costs the most.
Who supports the implementation?
8 of the 18 vendors sell exclusively through distribution partners. That is not a disadvantage but a decision about a partner and not only about a program — and the partner also sets the price.
Price and implementation costs
7 vendors state an entry price publicly, in the middle CHF 35.– a month. For an all-in-one solution that is the smaller figure: setup, data migration and training fall once and appear in no price list. Demand both figures in the same quotation.
What you have to budget

The calculation nobody makes
An all-in-one solution is usually set against the sum of the individual prices, and the sum almost always wins. The calculation is incomplete: it counts the licences and not the seams.
Every seam between two programs is a place where data stalls, gets entered twice or drifts apart. All 18 all-in-one solutions compared offer an open interface — that solves the technical part and not the organisational one: who notices when a transfer stops running, and who sets it up again?
The second missing figure is the implementation. It falls once, appears in no price list, and for an all-in-one solution regularly exceeds the first annual subscription. Demand it as a separate item, not as an estimate in a subordinate clause.
Moving from separate programs to an all-in-one solution
This is not a software change but a project. What gets consolidated are not programs but master data: items, customers, suppliers, accounts. Where the same customer is named three slightly different ways in three programs, the effort is decided — and that can be checked before the project by exporting the three lists and comparing them.
The timing is the change of financial year, and the order puts accounting last. Whoever starts with accounting has no counterpart for anything else; whoever starts with sales and stock can still run accounting in parallel.
And reckon with parallel operation. Three months of two systems costs more than planned and less than abandoning the project halfway.
Frequently asked questions
What does an all-in-one solution cost for a Swiss SME?
7 of the 18 vendors compared publish an entry price, in the middle CHF 35.– a month, the highest published CHF 65.–, excluding VAT and without implementation. For 11 solutions there is no published price — 8 sell only through partners.
From what size does an all-in-one solution pay off?
It is not the number of employees that decides but the number of areas that need the same data. A five-person trade business with stock and service jobs benefits more than a fifteen-person agency that only runs projects and invoices.
Can I start with one module and extend later?
With most yes, and the comparison table carries «modules selectable» as a row of its own with the three recorded cases: individually selectable, tiers with add-on modules, and fixed tiers. Clarify the price of the extension first, not only its possibility.
What is the most frequent reason such projects fail?
Not the software. It is inconsistent master data and a project without anyone in the business who is allowed to decide. Both can be checked before the selection and rarely are.
Where the figures come from
Every figure in this text is calculated at build time from the verified survey and not typed in.
- Prices
- Vendor information from price lists, product pages and trial accounts, each value with a verification date. Implementation costs are NOT surveyed — they depend on the project and the partner. As of July 2026.
- Feature information
- Vendor documentation. What a vendor does not state itself appears as «not surveyed» and not as a no.
- Interests
- The operator makes none of the solutions compared, is not a distribution partner of any vendor, and maintains no paid placements.
Once the architecture is decided, the comparison table is the faster tool: there you filter the 18 solutions by modules, operating model and fit — and see all 26 recorded details per solution.
